Mercury BTO Lifecycle Services Breaks the Time-Cost-Quality Triangle
Mercury offers a BTO Lifecycle Services approach, enabling companies to improve overall quality and reduce quality costs. This radical improvement over the traditional triangle of cost-quality-time is achieved by working in parallel – beginning the testing process as soon as the requirement or demand is accepted. This new approach from Mercury Services:
  • Gives IT departments greater levels of control and visibility of the entire process,
  • Reduces overall cost by identifying defects earlier in the process, and
  • Aligns IT efforts closer to business goals.

A telecommunications company providing mobile communications in high growth markets is currently benefiting from this parallel approach. Working closely with Mercury Consulting services, this customer has integrated the strategic touch points of IT Governance and Quality Assurance to significant advantage. Through this integration, the customer has maintained the link between initial requirements and quality testing efforts, effectively aligning testing to business needs. By retaining requirements traceability throughout the process, they saved both money and time on their implementation; and delivered a completed application that is better aligned with the needs of the business.

Mercury’s BTO Lifecycle Services approach provides an end-to-end workflow for requirements, enabling seamless integration between the business, development, and testing activities. It also provides an effective communication platform, used by developers, testers, business teams, and external partners, which accurately reflects the status of your project in the context of defined requirements. As a result, you can gain full visibility into the progress of your requirements and retain control over quality at every stage — from idea to implementation.

Mercury Services also allows you to introduce Risk-Based Testing based on the Mercury Quality Methodology. This improves the cost efficiency of test activities, because testing efforts are concentrated on the most business critical functions, reducing the likelihood of financial loss caused by errors in production. Moreover, your implementation takes a step closer to SOX compliance because of the way in which your project is monitored, recorded, and written.

Mercury Consulting Services is pleased to offer this new service right away, which is suitable to all customers wanting security, manageability, and traceability throughout their IT implementations.
